Staying Positive in Negative Situations

We never know when something bad can happen. Negative situations are unavoidable and they happen all the time. They can affect our attitudes and lives in general in a very negative way. So, how can we possibly prevent something like that from happening?

Staying positive in negative situations can have a big impact when it comes to living a healthy life. The following are some ways you can do this.

Have a Positive Group of People Support You

Having a positive group of people around you is very important when you are going through difficult times. If you are surrounded by positive people, it is easier for you to stay positive at all times, even when you find yourself in a negative situation. However, make sure to avoid negative people, and there is a lot of them out there. Hanging out with them can only bring you down even more because of their negative attitudes.

Think About All the Things That You Are Grateful For

Even when in difficult situations, many of us remember that there are still things in our lives that we are grateful for. Don’t be afraid to express what you are grateful for. Talk about those things with your friends and family. Actively acknowledging those things can help you have a grateful heart and mind at all times.

You probably already know that working out is good for your body. But, did you know that it can be good for your mind as well? Well, now you know! Exercise has both emotional and physical benefits. It is a great way to fight the negative effects of being in a difficult situation.

Train Your Mind

Are you one of those people who always beat themselves up when something bad happens? A lot of people go through this stage. The more negative your thoughts are, the more negative you are going to become as a person in general. And what you need to do is train your mind to stop doing that to yourself, because you deserve better. Instead of thinking negative, think positive.

Train yourself to replace negative thoughts with the positive ones. This becomes more natural over the course of time, which means that whenever a negative thought comes into your mind, your brain will automatically turn it into a positive one.

Accept the Situation as It Is and Try to Find Solutions

Many people are resistant to changes in their lives. It is important to learn to accept the fact that changes are inevitable. The only thing that happens constantly in life is change.

When our mind is trained to always stay positive, even the more tragic scenarios, such as death, are not able to destroy us. Having the power of positive thinking can really help us deal with negative situations as they arise.

Seeing the Good in Others, Its all around!!

Many times, our relation with people appears “too formal”. No matter if you’re at work, at school, at home, over the phone, or the internet:

we tend to do everything without quality and interest, often neglecting the sense to find out what goes on with colleagues and folks. You may smile to show some warmth; but that is all you have to offer. How often do you really take some moments to check out what’s inside other people? How do you see the good in them, and how do you make them comfortable around you?

The truth is that we all have a natural inclination to notice what people are doing wrong, than what they are doing right. So, it’s not surprising when we hear stuffs like- “people will not remember the one thousand things you did right, but will quickly talk about the one thing you did wrong”. It’s obvious we are in always in a hurry to conclude on the personality of people with the slightest provocation.

This is even worse when you feel surrounded by mostly people with less than good qualities. Such manner of life will make you feel less secure, less happy and make you have a hard time trusting people.

If you really want to live a happy and fulfilled life, then you’ve got to learn to see the good in others. Stop bouncing off every time there’s company, especially when the person involved expects more from you. Make it a habit to appreciate the good in the world. This will not only grant you freedom but also make you more productive.

Now, you ask-how can I do that?

Become curious

Instead of bumping out on everyone, why not take a little time to find out what is going on with them. Become curious and know what the other person is feeling.

Think positively

Always think positively of others. Try to see good intentions in them. No one is your enemy until they are your friends.

See abilities

Recognize a special ability when you come across one. Try to give some encouragement when you get the chance. You never can tell, the next biggest brand might be standing next to you.

Finally, recognize that the good you see in others is also in you. This is the only way you can truly see the good in the world. Always maintain a positive spirit no matter how your circumstance doesn’t suggest it.

The innate nature to help others, must be divine!

Thanks for checking back in with our blog. This post will be focused on how even when everything is going against you, literally even Mother Nature. There is usually an example of divine intervention or others helping one another for no other reason than the urge placed deep within oneself. Sometimes it takes looking form a distance to fully appreciate the helping hands all around.

Recently we saw in the news Hurricane Hermine ripping through the south of the country. Tis hurricane maybe didn’t have the wind fore as some previous storms, but it absolutely caused some damage on the local communities.

I know where my Uncle lives in Sarasota Florida it didn’t cause as much damage as expected but still took one life and caused various forms of damage to the homes and boats on the coast. Our condolences go to the family of the desist individual. We will pray that one day you have peace.

Although not nearly as tragic, I was speaking to my uncle the other day who owns a home extremely close to the ocean and took the storm head on. His house had some serious damage to the roof and his garage was leveled by fallen trees. I always loved going down there to visit, yes the beaches and area are fantastic but inside his garage was the ultimate Man Cave. I mean he had everything from arcade games and a soda bar to his old motorcycle racing photos and Indian Motorcycle. Thanks God for Insurance but I think the garage will be out of commission for a while.

So as were talking about the last several weeks and how he was going to replace or restore the Man Cave. We got to talking about the cleanup and how the community was recovering. He was a little down kind of moping around as there is a lot of hurry up and wait with the insurance companies. He explained that the trees were down for nearly three days and he couldn’t find anyone available to help him remove the fallen palms. On the third day he was outside sawing them in pieces by himself, which if yo knew my uncle would have been a comical sight.

Well just as he started the project a truck pulls up from a local tree service in Sarasota. As he put it two Lumber Jack of men hope out and grab their enormous chain saws. They had those tress cuts and the debris out of the driveway and road within an hour or two.

So I asked him is this one of the companies you tried to call before? Or how did they know you needed some help? Well of course in his sarcastic way he said, I think they just saw an old fart about to cut his leg off and stopped to help. Once the finished he says they even refused to take payment, knowing my Uncle that didn’t fly and I’m sure they made off pretty well.

Again, just a quick story about how even when the heavens seem to be opening wide and pouring down on our lives. If we open our thinking and take a closer look we can usually see examples of divine intervention. Sometimes in the form of people helping each other out of the kindness of their hearts, not looking for anything in return besides the feeling of helping someone else in a time of need.

Thanks again for checking us out and we look forward to sharing more her shortly. If you have some great example of how might have experienced a piece of divinity, we would love to hear from you. Please visit our contact page and e-mail us there.

Accomplishments with a helping hand

When we accomplish a task or reach a goal I believe its important to recognize the powers that helped us reach that outcome. Granted nothing happens without direct action by the oneself. Meaning no divine power will complete your goal for you. However, I do believe a number of our accomplishments have a helping hand behind them. An invisible force that seems to play a factor in the final outcome.

Just stop and think about a time you had a task at hand, one that seemed impossible. Yet, you knew it had to be done. So what did you do you pulled up your sleeves and took action. You likely set a plan or direction to take, rather you knew how to navigate the course or not you got started. That first action lead to another. You likely came across things that you didn’t know how to handle, and figured them out. Step by step you made the action and likely accomplished you task or learned a ton along the way, or both.

I was recently on a plane sitting next to a this gentleman. As we got to talking he revealed that he recently started a business out of necessity, he was laid off his job of 15 years and had nothing saved. He was on the verge of loosing his home and family. He had a skill set but that was it. He revealed his faith and that he prayed deeply on the subject. He decided it was time to venture on his own not relying on another company for his future, his words exactly.

He was skilled in a trade and had been doing it for many years, he had the equipment needed and the missing piece was guidance. Guidance in opening and operating a business. He swears it was divine intervention, because one day he out of the blue a good friend who he hadn’t spoken to in years reached out to see how life was going. This Friend had become a business consultant, primarily working with startups and technology companies. He wasn’t a tech company but the rekindled friendship would soon lead down the road of helping him establish his business entity and the proper licensing and insurance. The missing piece in his new found vision was now complete.

Jim would soon be off and running operating his very own lawn service. He explained how he had his marketing plan and top prospects lined out. He would primarily approach the clients he used to serve for years working for someone else. Then a ton of gorilla style tactics from door flyers, craigslist to yard signs.

As he puts it the thing just took off! He had great relationships with former clients who trusted his work and they were glad to hire him. Not only that, knowing his new vision and his new venture they were happy to refer him over to their friends. His business blew up, after a month he had enough capital to invest in more equipment and three new employees. He now runs two crews and keeps them busy for 6-7 days a week.

He told me his annual income has more than doubled and he has the freedom and security he could only have dreamed about in the last 15 years.

I couldn’t help but believe his story and accomplishment was due in big part to his own drive and action, it couldn’t have happened without those elements. However as he believed the reconnection with an old friend was more than coincidence. Something told him to reach out to Jim and say hi. Then something took that conversation down the road of those two working together to make his dream become a reality.

As this story illustrates if we keep our eyes and minds open we can see some sort of Kamui influence our lives and help us accomplish our tasks at hand. But don’t get me wrong we all must take the appropriate action, there is not likely any divine intervention who will hand you anything on a silver platter. I believe divine powers come into play when we are focused and taking the proper action, then the helping hand comes along, seemingly unexpected and helps us accomplish our goals.

Challenges reveal character

So life isn’t always as planned and throws us curve balls or detours when we least expect them. It during those challenges that we often build character. Some might suggest these challenges are placed in our path by a divine being for the purpose of testing and developing oneself.

Here’s a story in which we believe the challenges put forth rather divine or not helped build character and improve my  situation.

About a year ago I had an opportunity to move to a new city and help expand the companies presence in the US. This was the first time I moved from my home town and was excited to take the journey. I wouldn’t go alone as I moved my wife and son with me, it was my wife’s first move as well. Our lives were about to change in ways we expected and ways we didn’t.

This move would involve a number of life changes, most of which we didn’t fully understand beforehand. My wife was working full-time and we decided once we moved she could stay at home and not have to work. Our son would start school in a year ad they could just enjoy life until Kindergarten started.

So we were off to start a new life with gold at the end of the rainbow, so we thought.

The first couple of months went fairly good at work as there was a lot of buzz about our service. We had purchased an outdated company who partnered with high end professionals helping their clients. Being we had all the new bells and whistles there was a ton of interest and things were going fairly well and we felt like the market was going to be great.

Then it all started to unravel. There were many challenges at work that started to surface. The data migration went horrible and most client data was inaccurate or incomplete. The service model went from hyper local to national and even international. And trust me when data is inaccurate someone from the East coast looks like a fool when asked questions as they only have the info in the system, which is horribly wrong. Previously the clients could just call a local representative and resolve any discrepancies. Now it was like a maze of horror as clients just couldn’t get the appropriate help. As they say change is always tough but unsolicited change is even tougher. In this instance the clients didn’t ask for a change. Then the change placed upon them just wasn’t working.

The company is a national service and has devoted numerous resources into cleaning the client info and service up. As of late the problems haven’t ceased but have become fewer and farther between. So that’s positive and time will tell if we make it in this market or not.

The move also provided challenges at on the home front as well. My wife was feeling isolated and very much missed going to work, if for nothing more than socialization with adults. The boy adjusted fairly well, he misses and still talks about his old house and friends, but has created new friendships with neighbors etc..

So the “gold” at the end of the rainbow may just be a shinny spot on a heap of garbage. But we were determined to make it work!

As we faced these challenges we started to grow. The family grew closer as we are all we have in this town. I have learned a tremendous amount high level business decisions and the importance of due diligence. I also stretched my knowledge base and learned a whole new product set and relationship building skills.

So as we talk about challenges, life is full of them, and how we grow is what’s important.

I believe the wings of “God” may very well have placed this opportunity/challenge in our life if for nothing else for our family unity. Before our move the family was on the brink of breakup as home life was a constant struggle. Now we have grown together and face these challenges and many others as a family.

As well the growth I’ve experienced at work is huge and highly marketable if everything else fails at the current company. Hopefully that’s not the case but if that’s the future I’m confident in the skills and relationships I’ve built that moving on and up would be an easy transition.

So look at all your challenges not ass roadblocks but building blocks.

Welcome to Kamui-Wings

Welcome to a blog dedicated to Kamui and the uplifting spirit of the world around us. Kamui is a Japanese word used in Ainu mythology to define something as a spiritual or divine thing. A “God” of sorts there are many Kamui for multiple realms or aspects of this world.

The purpose of this blog is to recognize the spiritual realm that’s always around us. How we can view life’s challenges and accomplishments and the powers that influence or outcomes.

We’ll be posting more here in a day or so.. we’ll see you soon!
